18-year old Alex Walker has extended his lead at the top of the GB4 Championship after a successful bank holiday weekend event at Oulton Park.
Walker was leading the Championship after the first round at Snetterton, but two race wins have extended his advantage to 32 points to stamp his authority on the rest of the field in his debut season at this level.
Walker dominated the first race, qualifying in pole position and leading from start to finish ending nine seconds ahead of closest rival Max Marzorati and Jarrod Waberski in third.
It was a repeat affair in the second race on Sunday, with Walker once again qualifying in pole followed by a commanding race to finish six seconds ahead of Tom Mills in second and Nikolas Taylor in third.
The third race involves reversing the grid, which meant Walker started the final race in last position, but he managed to fight his way up to 7th, and an additional 12 points, to cap the perfect weekend for the Bedford speedster.
With 35 points on offer for each race win, Walker remains on top of the standings with 159 points ahead of Max Marzorati on 127 and Jarrod Waberski on 124.
Walker represents Elite Motorsport, who are second in the team standings just seven points behind Kevin Mills Racing, with six teams competing in the Championship.
Walker in a confident mood heading to Silverstone
Next up on the GB4 calendar is Silverstone; the iconic host of the British Formula One Grand Prix, and Alex is in a confident mood heading to the event that begins on 7th May.
Speaking following his opening race win on Saturday, he was bullish about his hopes for the rest of the weekend:
“It’s been a great Saturday. A double pole and the win, and I can’t wait to get going on Monday. I’m really happy with today and it’s a good way to start the Easter weekend.
“The race felt more a practice session than a race to be honest, because as soon as I came out of turn one I already had a gap, so there wasn’t really much else to do.
“It was just being consistent and trying to get through the race as quickly as possible.”

Each event – eight in all – host three races per weekend, so there are still 18 of the 24 races to go this season; a long way to go before Walker can start thinking about a Championship win.
However, with three race wins from six so far and a place on the runner-up podium to boot, it’s been an almost perfect start from one of the British Racing Drivers’ Club’s Rising Stars.
The teams now take a well-earned three week break before returning on 7th May at Silverstone, where Alex Walker will hope to extend his lead even further.
