Real Bedford’s association with the cryptocurrency exchange, Gemini will continue for at least another five years after the company announced a long-term sponsorship deal with the club today, (Monday 1 July).
Gemini are already well established at McMullen Park having began their sponsorship in 2022 and more recently its owners, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss personally invested $4.5m (approximately £3.6m) into Real Bedford FC in April.

The sponsorship money will be paid upfront, and entirely in Bitcoin.
“Our strategic five-year deal reaffirms our continued conviction that Real Bedford – powered by Bitcoin and Peter’s leadership – has the ability to defy the odds, upset the establishment, and dethrone incumbents”, said Marshall Beard, Chief Operating Officer of Gemini.
“Through our investment, Real Bedford’s balance sheet will be fortified with digital assets, giving them advantages on and off the pitch. We can’t wait to see what the club achieves in the coming years.”
Real Bedford have secured two league titles since Peter McCormack completed a takeover of Bedford FC in April 2022, and the club will now play in Southern League Central Division One for the upcoming season.
McCormack commented, “I want to extend a massive thank you to Gemini for renewing their sponsorship agreement with Real Bedford for another five years. By accepting payment in Bitcoin, this deal strengthens our economic foundations.”
Real Bedford’s players have the option of being paid in Bitcoin, with fans able to purchase tickets and merchandise using the currency.
On the pitch, Real Bedford Men’s side announced their first signing in Jack Morrell, who was part of the league title winning squad for Biggleswade Town last season, while the Women’s side have been busy preparing for Step Four themselves.
New manager, Charlie Bill has already secured four signatures for the Pirates squad for the upcoming season; among them, Chiara Meola from Championship side, Watford alongside Emily Wilson and Tricia Gould who join up with Bill once again after joining from MK Dons.
The fourth signing is former Billericay Town, Amber Gaylor who brings vast experience to McMullen Park as the Women once again aim for the league title.
