It’s been a successful ending to another busy season at GNG Volleyball Club, based in Bedford after victory at their own annual season-ending competition.
Made all the more special given the past season has been the Club’s 50th anniversary, the victory in the tournament came off the back of their best ever finish in Division Three of the National League, completing a year to remember for all at Manton Lane.

This season, the Club competed in three leagues; National Division 3, the Herts League, performing strongly across the board, including a solid fourth place finish for the Men’s first team in the Hertfordshire League after eight wins from 16 games.
On Sunday 29 June, the Club hosted their annual GNG Bedford Volleyball Tournament.
It was their biggest one yet, with over 125 players and 30 teams competing across five competitions; the Cup, Trophy, Shield, Plate, and Medal.

The tournament featured fast-paced, timed matches and close competition.
In the Cup final, the GNG Bedford team faced off against reigning champions, London SharpSpikers and came out victorious after three intense sets, the climax of a day that brought the whole volleyball community together.
“Our players have shown incredible growth this season,” said player and coach, Ion Emillian, (pictured above).
“I am proud to see our teams compete at such a high level, and with such heart. It has been inspiring — both in league matches and at our home tournament.”

The club are always welcoming new players, coaches, and supporters.
The next indoor season kicks off again in September, with exciting developments for the 2025/26 season, including the launch of a new women’s team.
