Controversial Katie Hopkins has had her show at Bedford Corn Exchange cancelled after a petition was launched to stop her from coming to the town.
A 38 Degrees petition started yesterday (Sunday) had gained 50 signatures within 24 hours.
However, the show was dropped after the Bedford Independent spoke to Bedford Borough Council, who run the Corn Exchange, about why the show had been booked.
The petition was started by Victoria Harrison.
The Bedford Independent contacted Bedford Borough Council, owner of the Corn Exchange, to ask for a comment.
This afternoon (Monday) they confirmed that the event had been cancelled.

A Bedford Borough Council spokesperson said, “We are proud to have a diverse community in Bedford Borough and want to support people to help one another to thrive.
“We do not feel the show in question supports this objective. As a result, we have made the decision to cancel the event at Bedford Corn Exchange.”
