A 26-year-old man appeared in court today (Fri) charged with the murder of a Bedford man who died earlier this week when he was struck by a vehicle in a Luton street.
Karan Soni, of Birchwood Avenue, in Hatfield appeared at Luton Crown Court via a video link from Bedford Prison where he is being held.
He is charged with the murder of 34-year-old Tola Piper from Bedford.
Mr Piper died on Monday (29 November) in Dewsbury Road, Luton from his injuries.
The accused will next appear in court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on February 21 when he will be expected to enter a plea to the charge of murder that he faces.
A date for his trial has been fixed for 9 May next year.
