Parents and carers across Bedford Borough are being reminded to apply for their child’s secondary or upper school place for September 2026 before the deadline on Friday, 31 October 2025.
The online admissions system is now open for families living in the Borough whose children are currently in Year 6 at primary school or Year 8 at middle school. Applications can be completed at bedford.gov.uk/onlineadmissions.
The system will close for applications at midnight on Friday, 31 October, and any received after that date will be classed as late, significantly reducing the chance of being offered a preferred school place.
Quick and easy process
Councillor Jane Walker (Conservative, Clapham & Oakley), Portfolio Holder for Valuing Families and Children’s Services, said: “Applying for a school place is both an exciting and nerve-wracking time for children and their families, but it’s a quick and easy process that can be done online in a matter of minutes.
“Please do ensure that you submit your applications on time, by 31 October. Missing the deadline could seriously reduce the likelihood of being offered a place at one of your preferred schools.”
Families are encouraged to check their choices carefully and apply early to ensure their application is processed on time.
